We are artists that are full of gratitude for the chance to be able to survive and thrive doing what we love to do.
Located in the heart of the Garfield Arts District of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania,
We are dedicated to providing a fully custom tattoo experience of the highest caliber, to a diverse and amazing patronage.
At Artisan we focus on bringing culture, catharsis and Tattoo together by being a forum for honest expression of the self, for those on both sides of the experience.
Artisan is a space free of hate. We happily embrace the diversity that is Being Human.
We do not, and will not discriminate based on age, class, sexual preference or identification, spiritual belief, or political preference.
We embrace the whole of humanity, and believe that within the honesty that is the tattoo experience, through its Intentional suffering, beauty and personal empowerment can be found For all, no matter their preferences or belief.
Our History
Established in 2011, Artisan stands as the realization of a dream.
A beat up structure purchased from a friend, in a then disregarded neighborhood, Artisan is a labor of love.
Built by friends. Built by our own hands, Generations over.
In a very literal sense, Blood Sweat and Tears have formed this space into what it is today, And we could not be more thankful.
In these last 13 years, many iterations have come and gone. Though, always the backbone of Artisan has been that of Creation.
The realization of creation, the realization of personal empowerment.
Both in the act of creating art and the act of receiving it onto one’s body.
